We're looking for an experienced .net developer to join our business as a Software Engineer to deliver and support innovative web-based technology solutions.
Manchester office base (once a week)
Permanent position - to start first week of January

Role overview
We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our growing Technology team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering and supporting innovative web-based technology solutions, primarily built with Microsoft .NET technologies. Your contributions will directly enable the business to deliver high-quality, efficient, and secure services to clients.
Role responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain web-based solutions using Microsoft technologies (.NET, Blazor, EF Core)
Provide technical support for in-house developed systems
Ensure codebases and solutions meet the latest performance and security standards
Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and Azure-based infrastructure
Keep development tasks and user stories up to date using Agile practices
Perform testing of all changes, including writing and maintaining automated unit tests
Identify and resolve bugs efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
Key Challenges and opportunities
Architect scalable and efficient solutions to support business growth and evolving needs
Ensure system stability, reliability, and high availability
Adhere to and promote modern development and DevOps practices
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and development methodologies
Manage workload effectively to ensure timely delivery of tasks and project milestones
What you'll need to succeed
Essential skills and experience
3+ years of experience in a software development role using Microsoft technologies
Proficient in C#, Blazor, and EF Core
Solid understanding of SQL and database design
Experience with modern development environments (IDEs)
Strong collaboration and communication skills; team-oriented mindset
Highly desirable
Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
Experience working with Azure services (App Services, Blob Storage, Table Storage, Service Bus)
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS/SCSS)
Proficient with version control systems (Git)
Experience in designing and building solutions using architecture patterns (e.g., Clean Architecture, DDD, CQRS)
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion
Desirable
Microsoft certifications in .NET or related technologies
Other relevant IT certifications
Experience with React or Next.js
Knowledge of integrating with large language models (LLMs)
Experience with Terraform or infrastructure as code (IaC)
Familiarity with source generation
Development experience with CMS platforms such as Umbraco
Location
Hybrid working with at least 1 day per week in the Manchester office.
