We are looking for an exceptional candidate who can create and deliver our strategic protection strategy, drive growth and lead a high performing business development team.
This is a new role within Omni Protect and reflects the growth and ambitions of our protection proposition.

Omni Protect is the UK’s largest protection club, supporting over 4,000 directly authorised firms with a bold mission: to simplify protection advice, elevate quality, and improve client outcomes across the financial services industry.

Role Overview
Internally, this role will be called, Head of Protection Development. Leading on the strategic development and delivery of protection propositions across all our intermediary brands, this role is pivotal in driving innovation, enhancing adviser engagement, and ensuring commercial growth through market-leading protection solutions.
Combining deep technical knowledge with strong leadership and relationship management skills, the successful candidate will shape the future of protection distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the protection development strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to innovate and differentiate our protection offering.
Product & Proposition Development
- Lead the design and enhancement of protection propositions and services, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
- Collaborate with marketing deliver innovative solutions and content
Adviser Engagement & Support
- Develop presentations, tools, training, and resources to improve adviser confidence and conversion rates.
- Champion best practice in protection advice across the club, driving persistency and quality outcomes.
Commercial Growth
- Monitor KPIs for protection performance, ensuring delivery against revenue and commission targets.
- Work closely with distribution teams to maximise adoption of protection propositions.
Line Management & Team Performance
- Provide leadership and support to three BDMs, ensuring they are motivated, engaged, and delivering against agreed KPIs and objectives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development planning to drive individual and team success.
- Align team activity with strategic priorities and ensure accountability for results.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships internally and externally, influencing senior stakeholders and industry partners.
- Represent the business at industry events, panels, and forums as a thought leader in protection.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure governance, compliance, and reporting standards are met across all protection development activities.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to deliver strategic objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven track record in protection product development and distribution
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams
- Track record of innovating and adapting in a fast-paced environment
Location
This is homebased with travel to adviser firms nationally as required. If you like to work from an office, you can base yourself in any of our Fintel group offices such as Huddersfield, Glasgow, Haddenham or London.
